| Verdict: Brash, irreverent, but also a major disappointment | ||
| Talk about buzz and hype, this band have been subject to plenty. I should have known better, but I felt compelled to investigate.
Take Guns n Roses, The Black Crowes and The Sex Pistols, put them in a melting pot and out pops Buckcherry. I assume that The Sex Pistols feel is due to the presence of ex-Pistol Steve Jones in the producer's chair. On the fast numbers, the mixture of GnR and the Pistols is most acceptable, giving them a throwaway, don't take me too seriously, vibe. "Lit Up" & "Dirty Mind" are the most memorable elements from this half of the package. On the slower numbers The Black Crowes are the most obvious comparison. I'm not a big Black Crowes fan, so that makes most of these tunes a bit of a turn off. As a blast of raw irreverent punk/metal fuelled pop, it is OK, but nothing more. A major disappointment as far as I am concerned. | ||
